Kris isn't the main character of Dawntrail, so he hams it up in the Arcadion.

So, I have Laurent as the main character for Dawntrail and the patches, because Kris has dealt with enough and needs a vacation. With DT it doesn't feel so important that you're the WoL, so I figured he can use the time to step into the spotlight while Kris relaxes. While he does tag along at times, Kris is very much not the main character and until Everything Goes Down is just doing what he wants.
But post-DT, Kris is getting a little antsy. Laurent's off doing important things and yeah, he comes along for most of that(he has to get hit by lightning after all his husband can't survive that). But surely there's more to do, right?
Of course there is—the Arcadion! Most of the raids are not canon for Kris (Eden is about the only one that is), but despite not being important to the overarching plot, this series is definitely Kris's cup of tea.
On top of that Kris does not like the use of feral souls—so, of course the whole hook of fighting to free said souls is going to be a good motivator. And Laurent would never, in a million years, step in front of a crowd like that.
Of course, Kris is going to need a wrestling name. Why would he only go up there as Kris? That's boring, and everyone else has cool names. He wants one too! I imagine the conversation with Laurent went something like this…
"I need a cool name for fighting in the Arcadion! Let me think…"
"Why do you need a new name—"
"I got it! I'll be the Ravaging Gale! It's perfect!"
"…"
"What's wrong?"
"Do you really… want to call yourself Gale, my love? I don't think that's a new name."
"What do you mean—oh. Right. Let's see… I can be the Raging Tempest! Pretty fitting, right?"
"…Yeah… It's, uh, good."
Poor Laurent never knows what to do with his husband. Anyway—
So Kris gets himself a somewhat gaudy (but still good-looking!) wrestling outfit, goes and does some dramatic singing and dramatic archery moves and goes "suddenly, Fray" sometimes, and has a lovely time. I mean… it's not lovely about the disease killing the fighters and all that, but otherwise, having a great time. He's truly in his element.
Of course, Kris doesn't use a feral soul. He doesn't like regulators, and well… he doesn't need it. He'd rather use the souls he gets 'on loan' to make a party so they can be released afterward. It also makes it just a bit easier for him to be an archer, too.
But... uh, yep, that's what Kris is doing while Laurent's dealing with the actual serious matters.
