…What is he doing?

Laurent gives Kris a perplexed look when his husband's gaze falls on him, a half-covered coy smile on his face. His eyes linger briefly before Kris turns his attention back to the person he was talking to, responding to whatever was said with a chuckle. Huh…

It doesn't take Kris long to look at Laurent again, though, his smile less coy than last time. He flicks his gaze up and down at Laurent before turning back to the chatty Mi'qote. Laurent sighs, leaning against the wall. Does Eir want to talk to me? Why is he acting so weird about it? He can just come over here… I don't want to interrupt.

The two continue to chat, and eventually, Kris casts another gaze at Laurent, though this time it's more of a pointed glare. He quickly shifts his gaze back up and down while his frown deepens.

Oh… I see. He wants me to go and save him. Hmm… Laurent chuckles, giving Kris a teasing look before walking away.

Reyna… you arsehole. Kris narrows his eyes when Laurent walks away. It's YOUR fault I'm stuck in this conversation in the first place.

"You have to tell me more!" The girl leans in, eyes practically sparkling. "How did he learn how to fight like that!? Did he really learn from a viper that traveled across the salt!? Who did he meet?"

Kris gives her an apologetic smile. "Well, I'm not sure about all the details… maybe you should ask him?"

"I don't know, Laurent seems so… intimidating, having mentored the Vow of Resolve. He's a half-step away from being the leader of Tural himself! You're so much more approachable…."

It takes all of Kris's willpower to repress a sigh. The one time I want to be recognized as the Warrior of Light… You're going to pay for this, Reyna.
