If beauty is in the eye of the beholder
What is it that you see?
Is it that shy smile
A flower blooming in the morning
The way the light filters through a window

But do those who see that beauty
Truly appreciate it
Or are they blinded
By its mundanity

In this cruel world
Where people are hurt
When others suffer
While the world turns against us
And there’s nothing that can be done

If it’s all against you
It can be difficult to let go
And allow yourself some peace

But in a harsh world
It’s all the more important
To look past the mundanity
And see the beauty

See what you’re beholden to
And see the reason
You survive.
